July 2023 Updates

Default Classroom Start and End Dates

The default start and end dates for the 23-24 school year are set to 7/1/2023 to 6/30/2024. Teachers can change the school year dates by going to the Class Setting page. 

 

Disclaimer on Publications

The Classroom Cards have been updated to show a disclaimer for the publications that may have a new version available. Teachers will be prompted to click “I Understand” before accessing the publication. 

Add Previously Created Customized Content

When teachers are creating new or editing existing customized content, they now have an option to Add Previously Created Customized Content. Previously created content can be shared between classrooms that the teacher is assigned to including archived classrooms.

 

NEW Teacher Edition Notes

Teachers now have the ability to highlight information and add notes to the online version of the Teacher Edition. To learn more visit the How to Create and Access Teacher Edition Notes in the Help Center.

 

Question Bank Added to Customized Content

When teachers are creating new or editing existing customized content, they now have an option to choose from the Studies Weekly Online Question Bank. 

To find the Question Bank from the Customized Content section, click the +Add button.

Clicking the Question Bank will allow you to choose from any publication (that you have purchased), week, and question created by Studies Weekly Online.

Ability to Adjust Audio Reader Speed

When an article is being read by the Audio Reader, text is highlighted (in purple) along with the narration. Students have the ability to adjust the speed using a toggle switch with drag to increase or reduce the narration speed. This feature is also available when text is highlighted.

Updates to Class Settings

The "Well-Being" subject publications have been updated to "Health and Wellness". 

An additional Transitional Kindergarten grade level was added when creating classrooms.
