How to Search for Articles and Media

Teachers can search for media referenced throughout Studies Weekly Online, including the Teacher Edition and the article content of available publications.

From your Studies Weekly Online account:

  1. Click the Search button (magnifying glass) in the top right corner.
  2. Type a subject or keyword into the search bar at the top of the page and press Enter (or click the magnifying glass button).
  3. Use the filters to narrow down your search by Language, Grade (if searching articles), and/or Media type.

Example Search: Find Spanish Articles

In this example, we want to locate an article about Thomas Jefferson in Spanish.

  1. Type “Jefferson” in the search bar.
  2. Click Enter (or click the magnifying glass icon).
  3. Click the Spanish filter under Languages.

This example search yielded 14 results, which include 13 articles and one video.

 

Example Search: Find Images

In this example, we want to locate images relating to mental health.

  1. Type “mental health” in the search bar.
  2. Click Enter (or click the magnifying glass icon).
  3. Click the Image filter under Media.

 

Example Search: Find Audio

In this example, we want to locate audio for mockingbirds.

  1. Type “mockingbird” in the search bar.
  2. Click Enter (or click the magnifying glass icon).
  3. Click the Audio filter under Media.

 

Example Search: Find Videos

Teachers have access to over 100 videos to enhance their students' learning experience.  

In this example, we want to locate videos relating to World War II.

  1. Type “World War II” in the search bar.
  2. Click Enter (or click the magnifying glass icon).
  3. Click the Video filter under Media.

Teachers can find lesson-specific video links in the lesson plans located in the Teacher Edition. (See the How to Navigate the Teacher Edition article.) There are also related videos in the Explore More section below articles in a publication. (See the Explore More Pages article.)

Not every article or lesson plan will have related videos.
