Studies Weekly Online content can be embedded in both Canvas and Schoology LMSs using deep linking. Deep linking uses a hyperlink to connect the user directly to a piece of web content, like a specific Studies Weekly Assessment. To access deep linking, a paid Root Administrator must first set it up. Contact your administrator or district IT for help.
From the district LMS, teachers will start the Deeplink Selection Mode. This sends an LTI message that informs Studies Weekly Online that teachers are entering our site and it will automatically launch. Adjust the window size to ensure visibility, then navigate to the content you want to share.
All content, including Customized Content, Explore More Media, and Search results, can be shared with deep linking.
Teachers should already have an understanding of navigating Canvas before proceeding. When following the steps in Canvas to deep link an Assignment or Module, be sure to set the Submission Type as External Tool.
- Choose Studies Weekly (Studies Weekly LTI 1.3/Advantage), then click Select to choose the Studies Weekly content.
- Studies Weekly Online will open in a pop-up module. Navigate to the desired content page and select Click to Share Deeplink.
- Then the Configure External Tool modal will appear, choose Select to insert the Studies weekly link into your Canvas Assignment.
- Follow the remaining steps in Canvas to Save and Publish.
Teachers should already have an understanding of navigating Schoology before proceeding. When following the steps in Schoology to deep link, navigate to the Materials tab and select Add Material.
From the dropdown menu, select Studies Weekly LTI Advantage (LTI v1p3).
Follow the remaining steps to choose Studies Weekly Online content and Schoology to Save.
Note
If you do not see Studies Weekly LTI available from the menu, please double-check and make sure that the application was configured correctly at the district level.
