Single Device Log in Policy

Security Update (Effective Oct. 1, 2026)

Studies Weekly Online limits account logins to one device (PC, tablet, etc.) or browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.) at a time.

  • Individual Accounts Required: Every educator and student must have their own unique Studies Weekly Online account. Usernames and passwords must never be shared among teachers, students, or families.
  • Single Device or Browser Login: Accounts are restricted to one active session per device (Chromebook, iPad, etc.) or browser (Firefox, Edge, etc). Logging in on a new device or a new browser on the same device will prompt you to either end the active session or cancel the new login attempt and return to the original device/browser.
    • If a user attempts to log in while already active on another device or browser, a modal will inform them of the active session and ask them to click Continue Login to switch to the new device/browser.
    • If users click Continue Login, the previous device/browser will be logged out and the current device will then be logged in.
    • If the user clicks X, they will not be logged in on the current device or in the current browser and there is no impact to the previous login.
  • Subscription Limits: One user account covers one annual subscription. Teachers may create multiple classrooms, but the total number of student accounts across all classes cannot exceed the total subscriptions purchased.

 Important

Account sharing or failure to follow these policies may result in immediate account termination.
